Waste Oil

The Village of Campbellsport is using old waste oil to heat the DPW Garage and is able to recycle the product that you are looking to dispose of.

The garage’s waste oil boiler is able to burn used motor oils, brake fluid, gear lubricants, automatic transmission fluid, industrial oils and dirty diesel fuel.  The village can accept any of these products at the DPW Garage and encourages everyone to recycle their waste oil.

Steps to changing your motor oil for recycling:
Step 1:  Drain motor oil into a drain pan.  Drain your oil filter for 24 hours...it can hold up to a quart of oil!
Step 2:  Pour your used oil into a reusable container with a tight fitting lid.  Old milk or vinegar jugs work well, especially since you can see through them.
IMPORTANT - Please don't mix oil with anything!

Step 3:  Take your used oil to the Department of Public Works Garage at 110 A Columbus Parc Court

If you are a business and would like to donate your waste oil, or if you have large quantities that you can’t drop off yourself, call 920-960-3060 and speak to Mark Gruber.

One gallon of used motor oil can contaminate up to one million gallons of water.  Motor oil seeping into the ground contaminates our soil, streams, rivers, lakes and drinking water.  Do the right thing and take your used motor oil to the DPW Garage where it will be recycled, helping to protect the environment and lowering our heating costs which are a big part of your tax bills!

Get rid of your old oil.  Protect the environment.  Save tax dollars.

It’s a win-win-win!
