Tree Ordinance

October 12, 2006

The Village of Campbellsport adopted a new Tree and Vegetation Ordinance on October 9th, 2006.  This ordinance has been duly published and is now in effect.

Under certain circumstances, trees may now be planted in the street right-of way in the terrace area between the curb and sidewalk.  There are some restrictions on location, and only certain species of trees may be planted in this public space.  Also, a Street Tree Planting Permit must first be obtained from the Village. (There is no charge for this permit.)

Diane Clark of Campbellsport's Department of Public Works has been designated the Village Forester.  She will be responsible for supervising the planting and maintenance of all trees located on public property.
